COLOUR HAPPY

I've always noticed and loved COLOUR; right from a little girl I would appreciate the way colours complimented and contrasted each other. I loved going into chemists because of the brightly coloured bottles, potions and cosmetics. My dad was a graphic designer he was chief designer for Readers Digest books and magazines,  and I adored looking at his layouts. He would even ask my advice on font and background colours for different books and issues, I loved helping in this way. Mum had a jar full of colourful buttons she had collected while she lived in England. They were all different shapes, sizes and textures and it was one of my favorite things to get out those buttons and admire them one by one. My mum even put on a rainbow birthday party for me once, she painted a giant rainbow and we had rainbow cakes, lollies and decorations, I'll always remember that party. Side note, I cannot wait to throw my daughter Hope themed parties and get a woman's weekly children's cake book ha!
Colourful fairy lights were the absolute highlight of my childhood, visiting a street lit up at christmas time would just about make my year! Remembering some of these things got me  thinking how HAPPY COLOUR can make you. You can be going through the most terrible time and it only takes one splash of colour in your day to cheer you up. Color truly is a gift to us all. (read on below)

For me these little "colorful memories" were what I loved about my childhood, I guess I have just always seen the world through colour and it has become engrained into who I am. Being a visual person  I cannot help but be distracted by a beautiful view, a brilliant outfit a friend is wearing or some fabulous brightly coloured bags.
I hope that in the crazy, hectic and painful seasons of our lives we can remember to stop and admire the beauty around us.To stop, breath and enjoy the simple pleasure of the little bit of colour that may present itself to us throughout the day. After all this world was created by one heck of an artist.
So go on and get yourself COLOUR HAPPY!
